Pastoral Staff

Pastor Greg Friesen became our senior pastor in September of 2023. His parents moved to Tillsonburg in 1985 to found the church and he has lived and worked in the area since that time. Shortly after graduating from FaithWay Baptist College of Canada in 1994 he served as youth pastor. In 2004 he became supervisor of New Hope Baptist School and Assistant Pastor at the church. When Pastor J. Friesen retired, Greg took the senior pastor position. He also serves as principal of the christian school. Jill was born and raised in Nova Scotia. She graduated from Bob Jones University in 1993 and was married to Greg in 1994. They have been blessed with three children. Jill serves actively in both the church and the school.

In 1985, Pastor John & Mary Friesen answered the Lord’s call to start an Independent Baptist Church in the town of Tillsonburg. By God’s grace they have seen many lives transformed and families helped as a result of over forty years of ministry in the Tri-county area.

Pastor & Mrs. Friesen have been been blessed with four children and are the proud grandparents of fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They have a heart for this community and desire to see people discover the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Pastor Friesen stepped down as Senior Pastor in September and he serves as Pastor Emeritus. Pastor John & Mary desire to use their senior years ministering to the spiritual needs of people. His pulpit ministry is solid, dynamic, and Bible-based. If you desire to hear a Bible-based message from the heart you will not be disappointed at New Hope Baptist Church.
